菠菜网lol正规平台 Monitors Rise in COVID Cases

Long Beach Unified School District

View in Khmer

The Long Beach Unified School District continues to monitor increased numbers of COVID-19 cases regionally and nationally, using data and the guidance of state and local agencies to respond accordingly.

During the past week, staff at several schools and a central office here have been asked to quarantine at home for 14 days as a precaution due to potential COVID exposure.

The rise in COVID-19 cases also caused Board of Education Meetings to return to an entirely virtual format this week, and the school district is re-examining timelines for phasing of in-person instruction for some students with disabilities.

菠菜网lol正规平台 continues to explore the option to have some TK-2nd grade students return to classrooms via a waiver process. Sports and music programs are not currently covered under the waiver process.

The school district will monitor COVID data closely as winter break approaches. To move forward with schoolwide reopening for in-person learning, Los Angeles County must first reach the requirement of moving from its current purple, or most restrictive, tier to the less restrictive red tier. Then, the county must remain in that tier for an additional fourteen days. 菠菜网lol正规平台 is well prepared to phase students back into buildings when COVID cases decline. Until then, teachers and support staff will continue to focus on providing the best education possible through virtual learning. The support of everyone in 菠菜网lol正规平台’s school communities is deeply appreciated.
